Friday saw a milestone reached with our project to establish Pit 3 as a specialist Crucian Carp and Tench water. The Environment Agency's Calverton Fish Farm had a particularly successful spawning year with their Crucian Carp, so much so they had too many to bring on in their stock ponds. A quantity was passed on to the regional Fisheries Officer for distribution and as the Society has regular contact with him he was aware of our project and offered us some of the fish. The f

All members know how lovely and peaceful it is down at Reydon Pits but it's even more serene during the closed season. Whilst access is not generally permitted during the shutdown, those who attend work parties, or do contract work on the site, do have the opportunity to enjoy the surroundings.
