AGM
Although no feedback has been received about this, the eagle eyed may have noticed a mistake on the Membership Book. The date of the AGM is Thursday 16th April (not Thursday 17th April as printed). Thankfully the Reydon Sports & Community Centre was still available so the 7.30 for 8pm start remains the same.
Members will be aware that the Society's original Facebook site was hacked and we had to launch a new one. Some people may still have the old site in their favourites. Posts have started to appear on the old site, along with at least one message, both may well be scams so the advice is to try and delete any remaining links you may have to the old site.
SUBSCRIPTION RENEWALS
Hopefully you have all enjoyed this years membership of the Society and are planning to renew for next year once the level of subscription is agreed at the AGM. There have been several contacts from our newer members asking how and when to pay, in fact we received a payment today! All members will receive an invitation to attend the AGM, usually sent out at the end of March. There will be a paying in slip on the back of the invite, it will include the subscription levels being proposed at the AGM. Quite a few usually pay before the AGM confirms them but if a different amount is agreed then it can potentially lead to a few problems. Saying that, there hasn't yet been an occasion when the AGM hasn't agreed the recommended levels, but there's always a first time.
PIT 3
Water levels have continued to rise in Pit 3 and the newly installed ditch overflow is working well. The result is that the pit is within a couple of inches of the maximum that can be achieved and it looks pretty good and ready for the spring planting of native marginal plants and seeding of the banks. The fish refuges look the business too, just need some brushwood putting in them to encourage aquatic life and improve natural feed ahead of fish stocking.
