Happy Christmas from the Chairman

Well it feels like the Society year has gone by in the blink of an eye, despite the amount of work that has been undertaken.
The start of the year saw the work on the far bank of Pit 2 completed along with improvements along the near bank. New pipework to help maintain water levels in Pit 3 was also installed in addition to the usual general maintenance at both our Reydon and Kessingland sites.
We were rewarded with some quality catches through out the year with probably the best tench fishing we have ever had.
Our forward planning paid off when we were able to respond positively and effectively to the challenge of dealing with incidents of oxygen depletion on our Reydon waters without it causing any loss of stock.
The latter part of the year has seen the final shaping and grading of the banks around Pit 3 as well as the creation of fish refuges below the newly created swims. The vertical section of the bund along the length of Pit 4 was also graded back and part of the bank raised.

None of this work would have been possible without the help of the dedicated few who volunteer their time to improve the facilities for the many. On behalf of the committee I would like to thank each and every one of them, and others who help in other ways, for their continued support. I also wish to thank our membership as a whole for the continued interest in the Society. I look forward to the coming year as the committee continue to work on improving our fisheries.
Finally, I would like to wish all our committee, members, bailiffs, riparian owners, ticket outlets and contractors a very merry and peaceful Christmas and a happy New Year.
