Well hello everybody, the new season at Reydon is upon us so here's looking forward to a good one.

Our thanks must be given to those who have worked so tirelessly to get through the vast amount of work needed to stabilise the banks on pit 2 along with the more general maintenance.

The Pit 2 project has been completed in time for the new season thus negating the need for unplanned closures.

The majority of the other works have mostly been completed and some long overdue works to clear the Pit 1 path to improve disabled access to the toilet has been done along with good progress being made on toilet screening.

Work on the Pit 4 island has been carried out and the trial works alongside part of the Pit 2 path is pretty close to being ready for planting.

As ever, there is never enough time or manpower, particularly as the recent rain resulting in a growth spurt. Consequently there are some minor works which will need doing over the coming week ahead of our maintenance contractor starting on site.

One point to note, Peg 7 on Pit 1 has been closed due to a nesting bird being very close to the platform. This has also prevented work to repair the wire mesh on the decking. The peg will be opened as soon as possible.

As far as Membership is concerned, if you are one of those who received an invitation to join the Society then please remember you must take up the offer by midnight on Friday 6th June. As with subscription renewals, this is a hard deadline and any places not taken up will immediately be offered to others still on the waiting list.

Application forms are still being received and will be automatically carried over to next year if all places are filled, there is no need to reapply.
