We have become aware of incidence of fish deaths in the Suffolk area, particularly affecting carp. It is not yet known what has caused this but it does give cause for concern.
Please could we remind all anglers of the need to take action to help prevent the spread of fish diseases.
Ensure all landing / keep nets, weigh slings, unhooking mats and anything else (footwear etc) that comes into contact with water, at any venues you fish, are properly dried in the open air when you get home.
Leaving nets etc in bags or stink bags will not adequately dry them. Indeed, any such bags should also be thoroughly dried out.
Lets all do our bit to help protect fish stocks at all venues.
