Following the hacking of the Society Facebook site in December we have unfortunately lost all of its contents and followers, a great disappointment after all of the work put into it by our current and previous Secretaries.
Obviously this caused quite a lot of work to sort it out, especially as it is all voluntary and coincided with the other pressures that Christmas and the New Year inevitably bring.
I am therefore particularly grateful, and must give thanks to, Brer Cornish for putting together a new site, also Paul Moss for supporting him in his efforts and arranging access to Society photos held on our website.
For my part I was able to access the original content for previous posts and make that available
The importance of the site can not be over stated as it not only gives the committee the ability to quickly communicate with our members but it also acts as a "shop window" for those considering if they should apply for membership.
The timing was particularly galling as the amount of work undertaken over the last year by the committee and some dedicated members has been collosal. Consequently, the new site has been populated with as many of the posts from the last year as we could.
In addition, and to try and show even more information than on the previous site, the images the Society holds relating to fish captures and stocking have also been added. There is more work to do on this as inputting the text for each image could not be done in bulk but we will try to add this when we can (it will be a long job).
Now that all this work has been done we are in your hands to publicise the new site to as many people as you can in order to rebuild the number of followers, please do what you can. And on that note I can now confirm that the new "Southwold and District Freshwater Angling Preservation Society" Facebook site is relaunched and available.
